COLUMN & BOOM MANIPULATORS
At M-LA Engineering, our Column & Boom Welding Manipulators are designed to deliver maximum precision, reach, and productivity in both manual and automated welding operations. Engineered for versatility, these systems enable stable, high-quality welds on cylindrical, conical, and structural components across industries such as wind energy, pressure vessel manufacturing, construction machinery, and heavy fabrication.

Each manipulator combines robust mechanical design with advanced motion control to ensure smooth, accurate torch movement and consistent weld deposition. Columns are constructed for rigidity and durability, while the booms offer a wide range of travel to accommodate workpieces of various sizes. Optional features such as powered carriages, rotating bases, synchronized welding positioners, and automated seam tracking systems further enhance operational efficiency.

Whether used as a standalone unit or integrated into a fully automated welding cell, M-LA manipulators are tailored to meet customer-specific requirements. Our engineering team provides complete solutions including system layout, integration with power sources, control panels, and safety systems, ensuring seamless performance and compliance with the latest industrial standards.
Column and Boom Manipulator (CBS) systems offer solutions for circular and linear welding operations with the opportunity to weld at points with high and long distances. The column can rotate 360° around its own axis. Thus, a full circle control can be achieved. Axis movements are controlled by limit switches. In addition, all cabling is protected with cable trays. The boom movement is balanced with a counterweight. The vertical movement of the boom is made with a high safety factor chain and geared motor.
